Should I harness my tears
or just set them free
to let out all emotions
which are bunded within? While I turn my back
on what was once my abode
it’s hard to bid Adieu
to its Welcome mahogany door
Torn between past and future
my tears now lie in wait
as sadness and joy overwhelm
on either side of the gate
While these tears choke
within my pounding heart
I can’t open its flood gates
to wash away my past
Wash away they won’t
a past which too is dear
on the other side of midnight
they’d surely re-appear
With my eyes brimming
I cross my gate of guilt
to joyous tears beckoning
from the threshold of my mate
These tears I hold in harness
would find their way to his heart
in whose beat they’d confide
some feathers I’ve left behind…
this is for a dear friend who is mustering courage, finding herself on the thresh hold of embracing her newfound love …

Before Dusk Settles
That fleeting moment
while Sun kisses the horizon
is like our parting
Shadows disappear
sooner than memories fade
into twilight
I gather the sand
of our footprints and castles
ingrained with our love
Before dusk settles
I sprinkle the sand
upon our rose beds

Hi Nooreen,
It is a joy to be visiting this website again and see it enriched even more than when I visited it before. I haven’t written much poetry of late. Sharing a couple of recent short scribbles..
Resemblance
Connect with the rhythm of nature,
in its moods we discover
shades of life
in all their true colors
resembling mine and thine
Immortal Grace
A flower blooms
bringing in its wake beauty & fragrance
for others to behold
To the soil she humbly owes her existence
bestowed by divine intervention
To the soil her spirit would return
and her soul in the oblivion
not in abject surrender
but with immortal grace
