Ancient Love
I miss you even though you sit right across the table from me. It's the fear of seeing an empty chair, or not seeing the dent in the seat where you sit. The present moment is an excruciating joy, and I cannot control the tears of my heart as they fall upon the image of your beloved face.
I hear you calling from the other room, asking me if I am feeling ok, or telling me to take enough rest in case I am not.
Even though you cannot walk and suffer, you still care enough to bind me to earth. Your care and love filter through the chaos of life and gives me clarity, instills hope.
Through your soothing voice, I hear a thousand ancient echoes, ones I heard in your womb. It's such a strange strange love that binds me to earth, yet allows me to keep searching for bright dots of light in a frighteningly dark sky.
But I miss you still...even though you sit right across the table from me.
That is the power of your love.
